15-5. AutoCAD Drawing POLYGON With the Mouse

How to draw a Polygon using a Mouse in AutoCAD step by step

Command entry Draw Polygon

POLYGON command can draw polygons (3 angles of up to 1024 angle)

What is a polygon in AutoCAD?
It is a polygon whose pages all the same length and angles are equal.  Given that this clarification to work with a mouse I will describe this method.
Begin to draw polygons by clicking on command button on the toolbar Polygon Draw or with a text menu, select DRAW => POLYGON. And also we can command line prompt enter the command "POLYGON"

After running AutoCAD commands required to enter the number of angles of polygons (number of edge sites) that we want to draw.
He then asks to click the mouse to the point where will be the center of polygons, and after that click is required to enter sub-command abbreviation (if we want to polygon with a circle inscribed or described). And then click the mouse to the point where we want to set a tangent circle. Please note that this circle is not visible when you draw and none after the drawing.
In the penultimate step before the final click, we can enter the Command Line RADIUS circle.

- Command: _polygon Enter number of sides <4>: 5 [number of desired angles / page]
- Specify center of polygon or [Edge]: [click your mouse to the point that the location on a drawing where we want to set the polygon center]
- Enter an option [in circle inscribed/circumscribed about circle] <I>: I [write the letter I (i) or just confirm the Enter key, which means that the circle inscribed in a polygon, if you type the letter C (c), then draw a polygon with the circumcircle at the tops]
- Specify radius of circle: [click your mouse to where we want to finish top of the page or polygon]

Here note that when you draw a polygon can bind to any of the OSNAP points if you actively function button OSNAP mod. Also pay attention to the function button for ORTHO mode. If he is involved you do not have a great possibility of rotation of polygons, then turn it off if you have the option of rotating the polygon as desired.
This also applies to everything I said about the function button for the POLAR mode. If you can follow it on the angle that will place the top of the polygon. You can draw a polygon with a number of angles that define the beginning of the drawing.

When you then selects Polygon GRIPS and the drawings that you draw by using the Polyline command.

When you want to tie a line at the test site then you have a connecting point on the lines of the polygon (Endpoint and Midpoint, Tangent, etc.) Of course, if you include them in the settings OSNAP.

If you prefer, you can break the test site on a number of independent lines (as if you've drawn the line command), then you use the button to the toolbar EXPLODE MODIFY.
After breaking polygons each line separately, you can transform.

If you want to reconstruct the drawn polygon and use it as a 3D body then you need to first convert the polygon drawn in one region or surface. (This is done by command REGION) with the DRAW toolbar. But more about this see the link command REGION in AutoCAD.

Measure distance in a Polygon

If you want to measure some distance in a polygon to use for the INQUIRY command.
