How to use SUBTRACT in AutoCAD?
To cut off part of the 2D or 3D model

SUBTRACT command on the MODELING/SOLID EDITING toolbar used to cut two or more objects (which was previously treated) REGION command (that facilities must be enclosed area or a 3D object).
Command can be run in command line prompt => Subtract
Pay attention to the clause for the Subtract command.
Create two or more objects. If the area is closed (unless you use a command or BOUNDARY REGION) can be cut with a Subtract command one object from another.

From the square we cut to get a square truncated round.

- - Draw objects (in 2D or 3D object)
- - Start the Subtract command by clicking a button or by typing commands in the Command Line
- - Click on the first object (from which Cut off, then that should remain and it is in our case a rectangle)
- - Press ENTER (or click RM on the desktop)
- - Select the second object (ie WHO Cut off the circle)
- - Press Enter

Now, with a EXTRUDE command lift the object and create a 3D model.

Subtract command can be used wherever you need to carve, chop off part of a body or a 2D object, for example: to make holes in the wall of windows in a 3D view and the like. (using the command Subtract I made gutters in the drawing home)
