13. LAYERS and STYLES in AutoCAD
LAYERS IN AUTO CAD
In preparing for the drawing should take account of Layer and the plan for their settings. In drawing, there are some rules of the thickness of lines.
What is Layers in AutoCAD?
Think of them as a transparent PVC film used in lectures in education (schools) on an overhead projector.
Each film (Layer) is part of the drawing in a certain color when they arrange for a second get a complete look of art. How to remove a particular film (Layer) so it is not visible when projected onto the canvas.
So the same work and Layers in Auto CAD. Each layer has its particular color, thickness and type of line, and the layer can be switched on and off portions to Layer ever saw/display or possibly plot
Here are some examples of Layer from a drawing that consists of 4 Layers.
First Layer our Draw
Second Layer our Draw
Third Layer our Draw
Fourth Layer our Draw
Finally, when all layers overlapping each other we have finished drawing.
All layers of drawing, one over the other
Set the layers work through the layers toolbar. To draw a more complex 2D drawings should be planned in line thickness, line color, line types, and in 3D we need to plan all the elements that will make the final drawing. So if you plan to paint a house in 3D we plan to have a layer for each element of which will comprise the finished drawing (eg. Layer for: floor plan, walls, windows, doors, beams, rafters, roof, chimney, terrace, plate glass, etc. ...
Click on Layer Properties Manager dialog box activate respective Manager and in it create a new layer, delete, sets the color, type and thickness of the line, click on the yellow lamp (bulb) include or exclude it.
Example Layer for the upper drawing (and there are redundant but it does not matter, you can simply turn off (disable the view) by clicking the light bulb))
If you want to change some of the parameters of the layer need to click on the respective parameter and then change it and confirm the Apply and click OK.
Here I only mention the parameter Layer FREEZE. It is important to know that it has the same effect as the lamps (excluding view of the layer concerned), but with the difference that Freeze after exclusions (turns in snowflakes) entirely from memory (RAM) throws amount of space that is occupied layer and thus relieves the computer to work faster, while it does not happen when you turn on the view layer to the light bulb.
Example Layers planned to create a home (house building). View of the house at the moment is Realistic View (where you can add the materials, materials for a realistic view of walls of brick, tile roof, etc).

DIMENSIONS STYLE IN AUTOCAD
We also need to plan Dimensions Style listing for detailed drawings.
It will adjust the line color, line thickness, size dimensions endings, the height of the letters, etc. ...
Modify the Dimensions style start over Toolbar => STYLES
- or Toolbar = Dimension> Style
- or Text Format menu => Dimension Style
- or by clicking a button on the Toolbar STYLES
After clicking the button opens us to dialogue Styles Manager Window, where we have a few buttons.
On the left selects the style name and then click the Modify button to modify or change if we are to create a new style then click the New button. Type the name of the new style that is based (Start With) the pre-selected and click on the Continue button to continue.
